VK Video emerged as a standalone product following its separation from VKontakte

The aim was to transform it into a product that captures users hearts </3

A lot of legacy UI elements remained from VKontakte, which had artifacts from UX research. This gave me a clear idea of where to start.

Unlocking Product Potential

User migration revealed new challenges. Through in-depth interviews I discovered that new users were experiencing discomfort due to the connection with their main VK profile, which significantly reduced their activity on the platform.
According to these insights, we mapped out the user pain points. Based on this analysis, I proposed the concept of confidential profiles. This new feature includes a series of changes that allow users to freely interact with content without worrying about unwanted visibility of their activity.

TV Platforms

VK Video was my first rodeo with TV platforms. I was responsible for creating a short video player. Having tested several versions of it on users and here is the result

User-Centric Approach to Vertical Video Viewing
To create an enjoyable user experience, we considered every aspect of interaction. We focused on intuitive navigation, minimizing remote control actions, and implemented smart interface dimming for comfortable viewing. These elements work together to make interaction natural and pleasant.

The dynamics of key product metrics during my tenure on the team are presented as coefficients to maintain data confidentiality.
